About The Position

Benchmarking Technician Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Benchmarking Technician for our Research & Development team here at Pilgrim’s in Greeley, CO! This person will champion the benchmarking process for the R&D teams in our on-site pilot plant. The Pilot Plant Benchmarking Technician is a n i ntegral part of Pilgrim’s. Collecting and delivering competitive product data and assisting in pilot plant operations. This position will help support Pilgrim’s growing product lines through product sourcing and management, data collection, and internal support of new product testing an d production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or related industry experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen or culinary setting (food processing) is strongly preferred
  • Experience in food safety, food processing or experience in USDA, FDA or local health departments is preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to pivot to changing business needs
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Must work well with cross-functional teams, managers and leadership
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (excel, word, outlook, etc.)
  • Must be able to handle physical activity including but not limited to lifting around 50 lbs and stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Execution of product analysis including cook time testing, product dimension and weight collection, pre/post heating and product attribute analysis
  • Properly document and organize product analysis
  • In conjunction with management, source competitive products as needed
  • Inventory management of products, tracking product receive/expiration dates and disposal of products as needed
  • Document schedule of benchmarking ensuring prioritization of projects are top of mind
  • Assist in pilot plant operations (test runs, USDA runs, etc.)
  • Assist food scientists in preparation of food products and ingredients for testing
  • Manage dry storage, freezers and storage.
  • Other duties as assigned
