Job Responsibilities: Full time - 40 hours per week - Fall term (September - December 2026) Mission of the Position: Works with the System Concept & Architecture and Product Line Management groups assisting with the benchmarking analysis of competitive products. Additionally, assists Product Line team with data research, comparative analysis, strategy development, and communication while supporting projects when needed in all phases of product development from initial concept to launch throughout the co-op program. Teams Summary: The System Concept & Architecture group is responsible for the System development of new customer products as well as supporting the evaluation of new technical advancements of the product portfolio. They are responsible for developing concepts/designs and developing into specific applications according to the product portfolio roadmap. Works closely with Sales, Product Management, OEM advanced engineering, and the cross functional engineering team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
  • Understand the basics of engineering theory and principles of design.
  • Working knowledge in computer-based software, organizational/communication skills, ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Practice and maintain integrity while following Magna’s Charter and Constitution.
  • Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).
  • Drive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures to ensure duties of self are performed in a safe manner.
  • Understand applicable Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in the workplace.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately.
  • Follow safety rules.
  • Comply with requirements for the use or operation of machines or equipment.
  • Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with new product concepts and advancement of product portfolio. The product concepts include, but are not limited to; 4WD, AWD, hybrids and electrification product lines.
  • Responsible for coordinating competitive unit(s) purchases, teardown analyses, and cross functional reviews in North America.
  • Assist with concepts for “Acquisition Projects” / Customer Request for Quotation responses.
  • Participate in the research and analysis of opportunities for innovative products, stay informed of industry trends and company strategy.
  • Structure and compile technical documentation for Product Line best practices.
  • Conduct data gathering and analysis on customer needs to enable data-driven decision-making for the product portfolio and product lines.
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).
  • Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
