Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? The Aftermarket Repair organization (PSD) located in Springdale, AR is looking for a Bench Mechanic for 2nd shift. Shift earns 8% shift premium after training period on 1st shift. The training hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30AM to 3:00PM and permanent 2nd shift hours are Monday, 3:00pm-11:30PM. PSD is a clean, well-lit, state-of-the-art machining center in a climate-controlled facility. Overtime opportunity may be available, after a period of training. Pratt & Whitney PSD is an FAA regulated facility, and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
  • Technical aptitude and desire to learn new skills.
  • Individuals with auto body experience.
  • Individuals with experience working on parts or equipment requiring fine precision and hand manipulation.

Responsibilities

  • Blending, smoothing, and deburring surfaces.
  • Performing assembly, disassembly, blast and cleaning operations on aerospace case parts.
  • Following work instructions to meet customer requirements.
  • Reading blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine work requirements on the part.
  • Preparing parts for welding and/or machining by blending and deburring parts to written specifications.
  • Set-up and operate equipment including a selection of appropriate abrasive belts, wheels, or disks for blending and deburring.
  • Inspecting work on parts to verify conformance with these specifications.
  • Completing required paperwork and digital entries.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of equipment (within the scope of the role).
  • Maintain clean work environment.
