Job Summary The Bench position will provide management support to new and existing SSC accounts in K-12 or higher education settings. Travel is required and can be significant including overnights. Candidates must be open to relocating outside of the West Palm Beach area. As the Maintenance Manager, you are responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations of mechanical and electrical systems, along with general maintenance and Preventive Maintenance Programs. Provides world class customer service and management of building management. Responsible for timely completion and financial outcome of maintenance projects in a team environment that includes the Owner, general contractors, sub-contractors, Owner's departmental personnel, project inspectors and other team members. Ensures Owner satisfaction and overall success of assigned projects. Has responsibility for the planning, scheduling, and oversight of work requests, building repairs, preventative maintenance for TAMU buildings. We are looking for a candidate who exemplifies a high level of energy and enthusiasm in the daily performance of work and has a proven record of engaging a diverse and multi-disciplined client base and staff. We expect this person to develop high-performance work teams as well.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience managing in a Maintenance Environment.
  • Must possess a valid Class "C" driver's license.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with administrators, department heads, faculty, researchers, supervisors, employees, customers, representatives of governmental agencies, architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, etc.
  • It requires the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform under pressure in both an internal departmental contact and in client capacity.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of building automation and mechanical systems is essential.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of training and work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the performance of vendors to ensure the highest quality of service and the best value.
  • Assuming responsibility for ensuring a safe and comfortable living and work space for students and staff in compliance with code (local, state, TAS, EPA, and OSHA) as well as university requirements.
  • Responsible for coordinating all building shut-downs and integrated facility component testing campus-wide.
  • Manages trades departments providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, utilities, carpentry, and painting services at Mercy University.
  • Working knowledge of capital equipment such as; HVAC, chillers, air handlers, boilers
  • Formulates and assists in the management of the annual operating and long-range facility maintenance budgets, ensuring that expenditures are consistent with SSC and TAMU priorities and continuity of high quality services.
  • Monitors and controls expenditures.
