The Opportunity Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Bench Assembly Technician to join our team. The Technician will work within a team environment and be responsible for the operation of miscellaneous processes supporting aftermarket repair and manufacturing. This position is for afternoons 2:30 PM - 11 PM. Additionally, the Technician will: Disassemble non-conforming parts from production in order to repair, reassemble, or prep them for the production team. Be responsible for setting up and operating manufacturing process equipment (heat treat ovens, precision cleaning, broaching, polishing, and gear checking machines). Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements. Inspect and/or test related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Uses a variety of hand tools, shears, grinders, drills, saws, tube bending and flaring equipment, pipe threading, and other items to be used in assembly. Completes soldering, brazing, and other bonding techniques. Cleans, organizes and maintains cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards. Strives to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required
  • Proficient in precision production-level metal finishing and repair processes with 2+ years of practical hands-on experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read, understand and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings and follow planning instructions.
  • Attention to detail, ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time, and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators etc.
  • Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
  • US. Citizenship status required.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
  • Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
