Job SummaryAre you passionate about creating a safe environment where students can excel? If so, we invite you to apply for our Facilities Director position where you can make a difference in the lives of students. As the Facilities Director, you will lead the smooth operation of custodial and maintenance of campus facilities ensuring they operate efficiently, safely, and in alignment with our education client's expectations while encouraging an environment conducive to learn and grow. This Bench position will provide management support to new and existing SSC accounts in K-12 or higher education settings. Travel is required and can be significant to include overnights. Ideal candidates will be open to relocation to other areas outside of the listed location.

Requirements

  • Five+ years of management experience in maintenance/facilities management or other service-related field with high customer/client contact required
  • Budgeting, forecasting experience is preferred
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility and leadership
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proven track record of working effectively in an unstructured and fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, ensuring safe operation of company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to our dedicated team of facilities professionals.
  • Cultivate an environment of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement through effective training and development initiatives.
  • Inspect completed projects for accuracy and compliance with established requirements and specifications. Assure that related functions follow all applicable laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of various statistical and narrative reports, including the long-range facility plan, five-year construction plan, and scheduled maintenance program.
  • Provide effective supervision, evaluation, and coordination of assigned personnel, encouraging a collaborative and cohesive team.
  • Play a key role in the recruitment process, conducting screenings, interviews, and making recommendations for staffing decisions.
  • Establish and maintain systems to train staff to meet performance and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain annual departmental budgets. Review, monitor, and evaluate budgets and financial data. Control and authorize expenditures in accordance with authorized parameters.
  • Maintain blueprints, specifications, and systems plans and drawings.
  • Serve on assigned committees.
