As a Belt Technician, you will perform activities related to the maintenance, repair, and splicing of conveyor belts in accordance with customer needs, company policies, and state and federal regulations. Your responsibilities will include installing new conveyor belts, changing out existing conveyor belts, repairing or splicing conveyor belts, and performing pulley lagging or changing of pulleys. You will also be responsible for the maintenance or changing of mechanical systems that transfer conveyor belts. Following the instructions and leadership of the Crew Leader or Project Manager is essential to ensure all aspects of the job are covered, avoiding any time-consuming delays and ensuring that any necessary hazard or task training is completed before beginning the task. You will ensure that equipment is maintained in proper working order to prevent injuries and that work areas are kept clean and free of hazards that may endanger the health and safety of employees. Additionally, you will inspect customers' surrounding equipment to help prevent costly repairs and damage to new material.
