Requirements

• Previous experience and working knowledge of grinding tools, equipment, and materials is preferred.
• Basic ability to follow instructions, read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations is required.
• Ability to use and read dimensional tools including calipers, gauges, and micrometers is preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications on Tech Cards and Process Control Procedures.
• Requires prolonged periods of standing and the ability to continuously or repetitively maneuver objects weighing as much as 80 pounds.

• Ability to work in difficult working conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

• Belt grind parts to tech card tolerances without part mutilation and at acceptable rates to meet department goals.
• Verify dimensional compliance using micrometers, calipers, and similar inspection devices.
• Grind and blend gating and defect areas on castings, providing surface finishing within dimensional tolerances.
• Accurately report time and quantities against work orders using bar code equipment.
• Adhere to plant and department safety rules, demonstrating safe work practices.
