About The Position

The Bell Person is responsible for providing an exceptional experience by welcoming and assisting all guests with their arrival and departure experience. This position offers an enthusiastic, welcoming, highly engaging, and informative escort to all guests and assists in transporting their luggage to and from their rooms. Hotel Nikko San Francisco is a luxury property located just off Union Square in downtown San Francisco, with 532 guest rooms and suites, 22,000 square feet of meeting and banquet room space, and five food & beverage outlets: 24-hour Room Service, ANZU Restaurant and Lounge, Kanpai Lounge, Imperial Lounge, and Feinstein’s at the Nikko. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of previous experience in hospitality as a bell attendant, concierge, or similar customer service position
  • Able to read and write English
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, weekends and holidays included
  • Ability to walk, stand, lift, reach, pull, push, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, turn and grasp.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the concept of luxury and quality
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift over 25 pounds
  • Flexible work schedule with availability to work on weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • OPERA experience a plus
  • Knowledge of KNOWCROSS preferred.
  • Knowledge of Forbes Standards is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests when they arrive and leave the hotel
  • Assist with guest luggage and carry items to their room in a safe and professional manner
  • Support the front desk staff and bell captain with check-in and responding to guest requests
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all hotel room types and facilities, restaurants, showrooms, etc.
  • Keep the bell desk neat and tidy at all times
  • Coordinating Transportation-car services, taxis, and opening doors
  • Polishing luggage cart
