About The Position

The Behavioral Technician, Youth Shelter (PRN) (“Technician”) is an integral member of Community Reach Center’s youth services programming. The Behavioral Technician provides direct milieu, group, and individual behavioral management by utilizing evidence-based practice models. The Behavioral Technician will facilitate and co-facilitate psychoeducational groups and family reunification meetings. The Technician will have other duties and responsibilities as determined from time to time by the Supervisor of Staff.

Requirements

  • 6+ months of experience working with or around shelter services.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Communication, organization, time management.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors activities of daily living for clients and provides training as needed.
  • Documents intervention and program activity and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to Community Reach Center’s policies and procedures.
  • Assists consumers with medication administration as directed by Colorado regulations, facility policies and procedures, and physician orders.
  • Coordinates care with consumer, families, center staff, and/or external facilities to ensure continuation of care.
  • Attends and participates in group sessions, in-services education and training opportunities, meetings, supervisory sessions, review of clinical issues, and special events.
  • Acts as a liaison and partners with consumers in the use of basic community resources, referrals, linage, and advocacy.
  • Provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.
  • Responsible for aiding in house laundry and clean-up of the facility as needed.
  • Transports consumers to appointments as needed.
  • Manages the milieu and ensure a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Complete admission check-in’s to units, provide regular safety checks on units, and monitor clients regularly.
  • Maintains confidentiality of consumer records.
  • Conduct rounds to ensure safety and compliance of youth in shelter program.
