About The Position

The Behavioral Tech III position is integral to the efficient functioning of the assigned unit(s). They will, by virtue of their role, have primary consumer contact and, in that role, will have influence on consumer treatment and progress. As such, Behavioral Tech III are professional staff members with responsibility for supervision and assistance in daily living skills, ensuring safety and wellbeing of consumers, as well as maintenance of a clean, secure therapeutic environment in cooperation with a variety of disciplines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience in substance abuse and mental health setting is required.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in documenting and reporting client progress and incidents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and basic computer applications.

Nice To Haves

  • CNA preferred
  • Desirable to have experience working with substance use or co-occurring consumers of all ages

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for clients, ensuring that all therapeutic activities are aligned with their specific needs and goals.
  • Monitor and document client behavior and progress, providing detailed reports to the clinical team to aid in the evaluation and adjustment of treatment plans.
  • Facilitate group and individual therapeutic activities, promoting engagement and participation among clients to support their recovery and well-being.
  • Ensure the safety and security of clients by maintaining a clean and organized environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations, utilizing de-escalation techniques and collaborating with clinical staff to ensure client safety.
  • Ability to successfully complete initial and annual Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) physical restraint training and verbal de-escalation training.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and regulations in all client interactions and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to client care.
