About The Position

The Behavioral Support Specialist is a full-time role responsible for ensuring compliance with program rules and funding guidelines at a correctional Community Based Residential Facility. This position is crucial for maintaining security and community safety while working with adult correctional clients. The specialist aims to positively change client behavior to reduce recidivism rates, requiring strong decision-making skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to work independently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college preferred.
• 3 years of experience or education in corrections, community-based residential facilities, criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, behavioral health, or law enforcement preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of agency information.
• Strong decision-making abilities and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of nutrition and sanitation.
• Experience in record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide security and supervision to clients.
• Monitor client whereabouts and behavior.
