About The Position

Diakon is one of the premier employers in Pennsylvania and Maryland. We are a non-profit organization which includes Diakon Child, Family, and Community Ministries and Diakon Affordable Housing. The position involves providing intensive, strength-based, one-on-one support to clients in collaboration with the clinician and reflective of the youth's mental health treatment plan. The role requires establishing relationships with youth, foster families, biological families, case managers, and other providers to deliver comprehensive services. Responsibilities include interviewing clients, performing observations, and helping patients build a plan to address behaviors, customizing behavioral and safety plans for individual clients, and providing interventions for foster parents and care provider staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field of study from an accredited college required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents, strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations as well as developing and implementing behavioral or clinical support plans preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Social Services or related field of study from an accredited college, preferred.
