About The Position

We are seeking quality applicants who hold a bachelor's degree for our Residential Enhanced Level of Care Program, an 8-bed program for male adolescents ages 12 to 18 years old. The YBS II will provide supervision, guidance, boundaries, and direction to adolescents who are in need of a more structured, individualized and enhanced level of care. They will demonstrate a variety of counseling, communication, and parenting skills, which support the formation of trusting, supportive relationships with the residents. For more than 140 years, The Children’s Home of Reading has been a pillar of hope, transforming the lives of at-risk children and families. What began as a heartfelt effort by compassionate citizens to shelter just six children has grown into a vital lifeline—now, as CHOR Youth and Family Services, reaching over 4,000 children, adults, and families through more than 35 specialized residential, educational, and community-based programs last year alone. By aligning with the legacy agencies of Community Prevention Partnership, Edison Court, Safeguards and PA Forensics as CHOR YFS, the organization believes that real change happens when they work together. Requirements

  • Associate's degree with at least 1 year experience working with youth
  • High School Diploma with 2 year experience (in a residential setting)
  • Must pass all pre-employment physical & drug screening (including THC) and background clearances. (Child, Criminal, FBI, and DMV)
  • Ability to demonstrate basic oral, written, and verbal communication
  • Must attend all required trainings followed by shadowing prior to working on the unit
  • Ability to work effectively among various levels of behaviors and maintain an atmosphere of safety, support, and guidance to ensure a positive environment
  • Experienced working with youth adolescents in a residential treatment setting
  • Required to work on weekends as scheduled by supervisor

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or any Human Services field
