About The Position

Henry Ford Medical Group's Department of Neurology is seeking a board eligible/certified neurologist with fellowship training in behavioral or geriatric neurology to join the new Henry Ford Center for Cognitive Health. The role involves leading clinical and research programs focused on behavioral neurology, aging, dementia, and Alzheimer's disease, while providing direct patient care and educational support to medical students and residents.

Requirements

  • Board eligible/certified neurologist with fellowship training in behavioral or geriatric neurology.
  • Completed an ACGME/AOA approved Neurology residency program.
  • Completed or currently completing an ACGME/AOA approved Behavioral or Geriatric Neurology fellowship program.
  • Proven track record of successful, high impact funded clinical research.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in leading clinical trials in Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.
  • Strong background in community outreach and support to underserved populations.

Responsibilities

  • Assume the Paul C. Alandt Endowed Chair of Behavioral Neurology to support efforts towards reducing the burden of dementia and related neurodegenerative conditions.
  • Provide visionary leadership to expand the clinical trials unit for Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
  • Develop the Center for Cognitive Health, focusing on early diagnosis and intervention for Alzheimer's disease.
  • Conduct population-based epidemiological studies and clinical trials in Behavioral Neurology.
  • Collaborate with the NIH-Funded Henry Ford Precision Medicine Initiative Cohort Program.
  • Work with the interdisciplinary Memory Clinic team to establish a new Center for Cognitive Health.
  • Develop and test complementary therapeutics in collaboration with the Henry Ford Center for Integrative Medicine.
  • Continue community outreach programs with the Greater Michigan Alzheimer's Association.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Population Health, basic science laboratories, and the Henry Ford Innovation Institute.
