Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field or 3+ years of experience working in a related role
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Ability to use a computer, proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintains a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance. In addition, travel to homes of clients/students is necessary.
  • Ability to comply with The Village Network requirements for using restraints including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training.
  • Ability to handle bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds independently.
  • Must be able to remain alert to problems, needs or emergencies that might arise on any shift, maintaining a safe environment for the clients.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels or personnel, internal and external to the company.

Responsibilities

  • Provides behavior management in the following ways: Supporting client’s efforts toward treatment goals Role model and teaching appropriate skills and behaviors Implement the 6 R’s strategies when working with clients Utilize Collaborative Problem Solving
  • Provides individual and/or group mental health services as appropriate to the child service plan.
  • Provides crisis management services throughout the campus including the proper use of de-escalation techniques and restraints as necessary.
  • Acts as team lead for and provides mentorship and formal supervision of level I and II staff including but not limited to providing instruction and direct observation in behavior management, creation of a positive environment, communication skills, and developing appropriate/therapeutic relationships.
  • Works with counseling groups and ensures proper coverage and provides feedback to direct supervisor regarding staff assistance in counseling groups. Complete accompanying paperwork.
  • Supports the treatment plans for each resident regarding group counseling sessions and assists Clinical Therapist with developing intervention techniques
  • Attends and participates in staff and treatment team meetings in order to better collaborate with the treatment team.
  • Responsible for supervision for all clients during assigned shift.
  • Engages with client family members in accordance with service plan.
  • Presents in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions.
  • Interacts with clients within TVN’s trauma informed models.
  • Supports the youth’s education through tutoring and emotional support as part of daily operations.
  • Assists in the transportation needs when not temporarily assigned to other program needs.
  • Performs other duties as required.
