About The Position

Behavioral Interventionists at ChOICE Academy make a direct, lasting impact on the lives of youth in an integrated educational and mental health setting. In this role, you will support students in building the skills they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally through consistent supervision, structured behavioral programming, and relationship-based interventions. Your work helps students strengthen daily living skills, develop positive peer interactions, and increase independence across classroom, treatment, and community environments. This is a meaningful entry point into education for individuals driven to help youth grow while developing their own professional skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services, education, or psychology or equivalent education and experience
  • Organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and trust with parents, other school staff, and WCMHS staff
  • Valid drivers license, excellent driving record, and access to a safe and reliable insured vehicle required
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or run for prolonged period
  • Positive regard for individuals with disabilities
  • Willing and able to satisfactorily complete specialized physical and verbal de-escalation training
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Willing to learn crisis de-escalation and passive restraint techniques to the satisfaction of the training instructor

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students individually or in groups as needed and assigned
  • Work with a time of interventionists to implement behavior and treatment plans
  • Keep accurate, timely notes consistent with agency standards
