About The Position

Under limited supervision, provides proactive guidance and expertise in student behavior. Assists with planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring to facilitate increased student achievement by implementing strategies necessary to aid in improvement of student behavior. Performs professional and administrative duties as required. Reports to the school principal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree supplemented by at least 3 years of successful behavioral experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in education, BCBA, school psychology or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides consultation and support to teachers and staff regarding research-based behavioral support for students consistent with PBIS (e.g., Collaborative Proactive Solutions, mindfulness, resolution questions, check in/check out, mentoring).
  • Works closely with staff to coordinate, manage, assess needs, and determine behavioral supports for students.
  • Aids in designing and monitoring behavior plans, progress monitoring tools, and behavior strategies in classrooms.
  • Attends and participates in meetings relevant to school-wide student behavior needs (e.g., triage, PBIS).
  • Collects and analyzes data to inform behavioral support decisions at the building and classroom levels.
  • Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and keeps records of disciplinary actions.
  • Provides interventions to students via software-based behavior management program.
  • Assists with monitoring of student attendance, and cooperates with district and/or county attendance supervisors for investigative follow-up activities.
  • Confers with professional staff and/or parents concerning student problems that hinder satisfactory behavioral or academic adjustment.
  • Responsible for early identification of students experiencing behavior problems.
  • Assists with the creation student behavior management plans.
  • Implements strategies as outlined in student behavior plans.
  • Attends faculty and staff meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Stays current on developments in behavior, discipline policies, and social and emotional learning.
  • Utilizes strategies as outlined in the school discipline plan and according to the principal.
  • Works with others consistently in a professional, cooperative, and respectful manner.
  • Develop relationships with students whose behavior data warrants intervention to prevent behavior from escalating and develops behavior tracking and intervention programs.
  • Follow confidentiality procedures regarding students, parents and/or legal guardians, fellow staff members, etc.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer.
