The Behavioral Interventionist (BI) Program is an intensive program designed to help children who have experienced trauma heal in their family homes. Clients in the BI program struggle with behavioral and emotional management to the degree that their behaviors threaten the stability of their current placement. The main goal of the program is to provide assistance to both the parents and child, thus decreasing the need for short-term hospitalizations, long-term residential admittance, and/or adoption disruption. The Behavioral Interventionist assists with re-direction, teaching of replacement positive behaviors to the child, coaching, and role-modeling to the family how to address the child's behavior.
