About The Position

Outpatient / PHP and IOP Summary: Provides a wide range of outpatient behavioral health services to clients; this might include any or all of the following: conducting general biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessments, intake assessments for psychiatric or dual diagnosis patients; providing short-term or longer-term therapy based on the needs of the clients, including clients with substance abuse histories; conducting outpatient groups (including IOP and/or PHP). Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a wide range of presenting problems; assists patients and their families in the resolution of personal and environmental problems attributable to mental or physical disorders which prevent them from achieving their highest level of functioning. Works closely with other OPBH professionals to coordinate care and develop individualized treatment plans. Performs insurance reviews and obtains authorizations as required. Education: Master's degree in related field (social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy) or PhD in Clinical Psychology. Licensure: LICSW, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, will consider candidates with MSW with an agreement to obtain licensure within 6 months of employment. Experience: Experience/training in serious mental illness and dual diagnosis preferred.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field (social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy) or PhD in Clinical Psychology
  • LICSW, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, will consider candidates with MSW with an agreement to obtain licensure within 6 months of employment
  • Strong skills in working with challenging patients and their families
  • Analytical and therapy skills necessary to evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, and evaluate therapeutic progress.
  • Skills in organization and priority setting, working in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines.
  • Ability to take into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills and diversity of clients.
  • Knowledge of community resources and managed care companies/third party payers.
  • Lifting up to 10 lbs. And occasionally lifting and/or carrying such items as files, books, etc.
  • Involves sitting, walking, stooping, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience/training in serious mental illness and dual diagnosis preferred.
