About The Position

The Behavioral Health Worker is a vital part of Midwest Center for Youth and Families’ treatment team. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position with an opportunity to work on the day, evening, or overnight shift. Available schedules include every Sunday - Thursday ($2/hr schedule premium for this schedule) and every Tuesday - Saturday ($3/hr schedule premium for this schedule). There is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • One year of experience working in a psychiatric setting with patients aged 10-18yrs preferred
  • College student who has obtained or are pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Implement elements of treatment plan and identified interventions to provide quality care
  • Document and communicate client behaviors
  • Follow clinical and unit programming
  • Assist with patient groups and activities
  • Provide DBT skills coaching with patients
  • Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques
