About The Position

BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system. The Behavioral Health Urgent Care is open Monday-Saturday from 9am to 7:30pm. The work schedule will include 4 days per week with alternating Saturday coverage. This team is embedded in SSM DePaul's campus, so you will work with a combination of SSM Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, as well as BJC Behavioral Health clinicians and registration staff. You will also work with clients presenting in crisis that arrive at the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Providing necessary support to clients in crisis
  • Identifying/providing resources to clients
  • Assisting clinical staff with resource linkage
  • Scheduling screening appointments with community agencies
  • Providing front desk support as needed
  • Working daily as a community liaison to identify gaps in care
  • Providing referrals for appropriate services as needed
  • Establishing and maintaining trusting relationships with clients
  • Documenting and tracking ongoing activities, care plans, and results
  • Continuously communicating and expanding knowledge of community resources
