About The Position

We are hiring for a Therapist for our Specialized Treatment Services (STS) Team. The STS Team is a multi-disciplinary team of: case managers, therapists, providers, medical assistants, and nursing staff. STS clients are often not successful in typical Outpatient Services and need dynamic approaches and interventions to gain and maintain stability. Specialized Treatment Services (STS) works with clients with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) who typically have co-occurring diagnoses and are often involved in the criminal justice system. Additionally, The STS Team works closely with SummitStone’s Competency Team to support clients going through the competency process. As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you will provide on-going and/or acute clinical assessment, diagnosis, individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, and limited case management services for adult clients with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), substance use disorder symptoms, and/or other disabilities. Therapists will develop, document, and monitor treatment plans, monitor and document treatment services, interactions, and progress. Ensure that documentation and maintenance of client chart meet agency, state, federal, etc. audit standards. Collaborate with internal (i.e. medical, psychiatric, clinical, case management, peers, etc.) and external (i.e. referral agencies, family, friends, etc.) treatment team members and/or supports around a client’s treatment plan goals, treatment, and treatment progress. Coordinate with collaterals and/or partner agencies during and after a client’s treatment to ensure sustainable support and step-down services are in place.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related behavioral health field from accredited college or university
  • 1+ years of clinical experience working with individuals with mental health conditions
  • Proficiency in using computers and telehealth systems
  • Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), or willingness to pursue a CAS or an LAC
  • Includes driving a company vehicle and requires a valid Colorado driver’s license. At times, personal vehicle may need to be used (mileage on personal vehicle use is reimbursed)

Responsibilities

  • Provide action oriented brief therapy to clients starting services
  • Provide Evidence Based treatment for a range of mental health and substance use disorders
  • Provide on-going assessments, crisis intervention and case management to clients and their families
  • Develop and monitor service plans, treatment progress, and maintains clinical documentation and other reporting data
  • Coordinate services in a treatment team model with internal as well as external services
  • Have a strong understanding of how to adapt service delivery to meet the client’s needs
