About The Position
The First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Program is based on a model of early intervention and coordinated specialty care, providing outreach, rapid assessment, evidence-based treatment, recovery-oriented supports, and family/primary support education for adolescents and young adults experiencing early symptoms of psychosis or their first episode. The FEP Program uses a transdisciplinary team approach to help participants achieve meaningful life goals in education, employment, relationships, and daily functioning while minimizing the long-term impact of psychotic symptoms. This position is a split position, dedicating half of their time to the First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Program and half to providing traditional outpatient behavioral health services. This structure allows the clinician to support specialized early psychosis treatment while also maintaining a broader outpatient caseload. In the FEP portion of the role, the clinician provides assessment, individual and family therapy, care coordination, and recovery-oriented support to adolescents and young adults experiencing early psychosis. The clinician works closely with a multidisciplinary team using the Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) model to support engagement, treatment planning, and progress toward participants’ goals in education, employment, and community functioning. In the outpatient portion of the role, the clinician provides traditional outpatient therapy services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and individual and/or family therapy for a range of behavioral health concerns. The clinician works collaboratively with other providers to ensure high-quality, client-centered care. This position plays an important role in helping young people and families navigate early mental health challenges while supporting recovery, resilience, and community integration. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to recovery-oriented, strengths-based care.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or related behavioral health field.
- Registered with DORA as a Candidate working towards licensure (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) to be providing therapy.
- 1-3 years of clinical experience working with individuals with mental health conditions.
- Interest or experience in early psychosis, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented treatment approaches.
- Strong skills assessment, treatment planning, and providing individual, family, and/or group therapy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and coordinate care across systems (family, schools, community providers, etc.)

Responsibilities
- In-person direct client care includes care coordination, behavioral health related screenings and assessments, individual and group therapy, brief therapy, case management, and related clinical services
- Serves as a clinical resource person to building site(s), clinical staff, case managers, medical providers and collaterals
- Develop and monitor service plans, monitor treatment progress, document interactions, and maintain clinical records and other reporting data for clients with mild to severe mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of professional policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other staff in providing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical services, including collaborating with Clinical Managers and Program Supervisors.
- Performs behavioral health screenings and assessments within the medical clinic setting, to include review of treatment options and referral information.
- Provides on-going care coordination within SummitStone, community agencies and resources.
- Provides crisis intervention to include crisis assessment and de-escalation.
- Provides onsite collaboration with medical providers to provide behavioral health assessments for those clients identified with behavioral health needs.
- Develop and monitor service plans, treatment progress, and maintain timely clinical documentation and other reporting data.
- Supports and fosters team values with peers and clinic staff, to provide support and remove barriers.
- Maintains superior customer service for internal and external customers by providing information and answering questions/requests in timely matter.
- Have a strong understanding of how to adapt service delivery to meet the client’s needs and how to engage collaterals and caregivers.
- May participate on committees (both internal and external), in meetings, and work on projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
