About The Position

Incumbent is responsible for providing patients (children, adolescents, and adults) with in-depth individual, family, couples and/or group therapy for a wide range of mental health disorders or co-occurring disorders including domestic violence, abuse, and substance misuse. This position requires the application of advanced evidence-based mental health and substance misuse assessments, treatments, and interventions.

Requirements

Ability to handle stressful and possible volatile situations
Knowledge of generational trauma and substance misuse
Ability to conduct initial diagnostic intakes and assessments
Ability to create culturally appropriate treatment plans based on biopsychosocial evaluation and diagnostic assessment
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Basic Word and Excel skills
Must possess one of the following: LMFT (Licensed Marital & Family Therapist), Ph.D. (in Psychology), (LCSW) Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Psy.D.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the Mental Health field working with a wide variety of populations
Experience with evidence-based treatment modalities, services, and best practices
Experience with individual, couples, family, and group therapy, including psychoeducation to children, adolescents, and adults
Successful candidate must pass the background check and continue to be eligible for employment in accordance with The Mohegan Tribe’s Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Policy
Must maintain all licenses and certifications
