About The Position

Inova’s Integrated Behavioral Health Program is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist IV to join our team. The Behavioral Health Therapist IV is a senior level clinician responsible for providing advanced therapeutic services, comprehensive intake assessments, and clinical leadership within the behavioral health service line. This role collaborates closely with physicians, psychiatrists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, patient centered care. The Behavioral Health Therapist IV may also contribute to research and program development initiatives that advance clinical practice and departmental goals. This role will be full-time, day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety, quality and patient experience. Requirements

  • Master's Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in Mental Health, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders or Behavioral Health related field.
  • Five years of experience post licensure in mental health/substance use disorder treatment, psychoeducational programming including targeted, evidence-based interventions (crisis intervention, trauma, and integrative therapies).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute within 6 months of hire. CPI in-person training for non-violent crisis intervention, receive CPI blue card within 6 months of hire.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).
  • Approved Clinical Supervisor Within 3 Months

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert therapeutic services, psychoeducation, and behavioral interventions to support individualized treatment goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive bio‑psycho‑social assessments and diagnose mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, and care teams to ensure integrated treatment planning and continuity of care.
  • Provide clinical supervision to team members pursuing licensure and mentor graduate‑level interns.
  • Integrate cultural, clinical, and developmental factors into treatment planning and intervention.
  • Participate in research, quality improvement, or program development initiatives as appropriate.
  • Adaptability in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
