About The Position

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Mon Yough is hiring a full-time Behavioral Health Therapist I to support their Outpatient Drug & Alcohol team in McKeesport, PA. The shift for this role is Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with the expectation to work one evening per week. The incumbent will work in our Outpatient licensed drug & alcohol facility, where co-occurring treatment is provided by a supportive and dedicated team. Supervision hours for licensure is provided. Requirements

• Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred.
• Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.
• A COPY OF YOUR GRADUATE LEVEL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED WITH YOUR APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MOVE FORWARD IN THE CONSIDERATION PROCESS.

Responsibilities

• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Complete clinical documentation on the same day of service and provide necessary information for service authorization.
• Periodically review cases and serious clinical changes with supervisors and clinical personnel.
• Assess changing patient needs and incorporate them into treatment plans.
• Conduct assessments of new patients under supervision, document clinical decisions, and implement treatment models.
• Provide individual and group therapy, engage families in treatment, and educate patients on recovery.
• Document all patient-related activities according to guidelines.
• Discuss additional service needs with the clinical team and refer patients to appropriate care levels or community services.
• Participate in treatment team meetings to discuss cases, update treatment plans, and monitor progress.
• Maintain daily records of clinical productivity.
• Create comprehensive treatment plans addressing a variety of patient needs.
