About The Position

The BHT supports patients with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse by assisting with daily living activities and implementing therapeutic interventions under clinician supervision. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Assist with hygiene, meal prep, and medication management; monitor and document patient behavior and well-being. Behavioral Support: Implement individual treatment plans and help patients develop coping skills. Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises, ensuring patient safety and de-escalating situations. Documentation: Maintain accurate, confidential records of patient interactions and treatment progress. Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals on treatment planning; attend team meetings. Education and Support: Educate patients and families about mental health; facilitate group therapy and workshops. Compliance: Follow regulations and policies, including HIPAA and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in behavioral health is preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, crisis intervention, empathy, and documentation skills.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required; additional certifications like CBHT are a plus.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift.
