About The Position

Under the supervision of nursing staff, the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct patient care and assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. The position reports to the Senior Behavioral Health Director and is FLSA non-exempt. Saline Health System is committed to providing high-quality, family-friendly care, offering a wide range of services including emergency medicine, heart care, maternity care, sleep medicine, and surgical services. The hospital is located in Benton, AR, a community known for its picturesque town square and historical significance, with the Saline River offering outdoor activities.

Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CNA

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Must have within 45 days of hire
  • Handle with Care (HWC) Mush have within 45 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
  • Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
  • Observes and records patient behavior and activities.
  • Reports any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.
  • Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant Company and Division policies and procedures.
