Behavioral Health Technician - Full-Time 8-hour shifts-Evenings w/experience in substance abuse disorders

Highlands features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Website: Highlands Behavioral Health System (uhsinc.com) The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) manages the immediate milieu of patients, facilitates group therapy, aids with activities of daily living, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment, under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelors degree in human services field preferred.
- Two+ (2+) years of education focused on nursing, psychology, social service, medicine or related field or completion of EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training program or equivalent preferred.
- At least one year of experiencing working with patient's who have substance abuse disorders, required.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors degree in human services field preferred.

Responsibilities
- Consistently provides supervision for assigned patients.
- Facilitate psycho-educational groups.
- Clearly documents observations of patient behavior.
- Performs basic housekeeping tasks required to maintain patient living areas.
- Ensures safety of patient at all times.
- Responsible for running one group a day - specific to patients who are suffering from substance abuse disorders
