About The Position

The Wood Group is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join their mental health care team. In this vital role, the technician will support individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges, helping them achieve stability and improved well-being through compassionate care and structured support. The company has been providing behavioral health services to the Mental Health Community of Texas since 1980, designing services to meet the needs of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. They partner with local Community Centers and other agencies to provide quality services, working as a team to help clients return to productive daily living in their community. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Valid Texas Drivers License is required
  • Prior experience in mental health, behavioral health, or social services is advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others
  • Knowledge of behavioral health practices, safety protocols, and crisis intervention techniques
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certification in behavioral health or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
  • Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
  • Responsible for completing items listed on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
  • Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Responsible for the supervision of all resident medication procedures. Ensure that all residents receive their proper medication at the proper time. All narcotics will be counted and documented on each shift.
  • Daily chart documentation
  • Be familiar with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures to include employee handbook.
