About The Position

The Inpatient Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for working closely with individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse and mental health issues. The primary focus includes providing direct care, support and guidance to clients, assisting them in their recovery journey, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the treatment process, and assisting with operational duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CPR/BLS certification, will train upon hire.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, be 21 years or older, and be deemed insurable through Team Recovery's insurance carrier.
  • Preferred 1 or more years of experience in Behavioral Health Industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information and write clearly and informatively.
  • Ability to speak clearly, listen for clarity, and respond well to questions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google products, experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team of professionals across departments to provide excellent client care.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in mental health or substance use disorders ideal.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Nice To Haves

  • CDCA License in Ohio preferred, but not required.
  • Preferred 1 or more years of experience in Behavioral Health Industry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google products, experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in mental health or substance use disorders ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to clients as they navigate treatment activities, including but not limited to support of medical and clinical services, facilitation of nutrition programs, and providing excellent customer service.
  • Provide direct support as clients navigate group therapy sessions, individual therapy sessions, and other treatment activities.
  • Monitor and support clients through their daily activities.
  • Provide verbal de-escalation and assist in connecting clients to crisis intervention when necessary to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
  • Co-facilitate psychoeducational support on topics related to mental health, addiction recovery, coping skills, and relapse prevention.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including clinical and medical, to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment.
  • Assist in ensuring building cleanliness, inventory stock, and safety.
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
