About The Position
Position Summary Under close supervision of a licensed nurse, the Behavioral Health Tech assists nursing to improve and maintain the emotional and physical health of the psychiatric patient(s). Performs nursing care activities under the supervision and/or direction of the Director, Clinical Manager, Coordinator, Charge Nurse or Staff Nurse. Participates in the milieu therapy program under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience in mental health field or equivalent education/academic preparation required.
- REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of date of hire or transfer date into unit
- Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.
