About The Position

The Behavioral Health Tech Psych Adult PRN Nights assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care to patients ranging from adult to geriatric. This role functions as an active member of the Multidisciplinary Treatment Team under the direction and supervision of the RN. The position requires demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth, development, and assessment data, reflective of the patient's current status in relation to their age-specific needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• One year of psychiatric experience preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• CPI certification within orientation period.
• Ability to communicate effectively and organize tasks.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for the age group of patients served.

Nice To Haves

• AA degree in lieu of experience.
• Enrollment as a nursing student or in the medical field (EMT).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and measure intake and output accurately.
• Ensure NPO status and explain it to patients.
• Monitor and estimate fluid and food intake with accuracy.
• Implement basic physical hygiene care.
• Obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs.
