About The Position

The Psychiatric Tech provides quality of care to the patients. Assists with assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all assigned patients' care in collaboration with a licensed nurse.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Preferably one-year experience in a hospital, or long term care facility.
• Prefer some college classes in psychology.
• Prefer C.N.A. certification in the State of Tennessee.
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross); if not current upon hire must obtain within 6 months.
• SAMA certification required; if not current must obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Charge Nurse in performing clerical duties on unit.
• Promote good communication between team members.
• Monitor detoxing and/or mentally unstable patients.
