About The Position

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician to join our Crisis Triage Center (CTC) team. The CTC provides 24/7 stabilization services for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis, and our technicians are vital in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. In this role, you’ll work closely with the clinical team to support client recovery and ensure client safety, while helping individuals move toward stability and wellness.

Requirements

  • Entry level (no prior related work experience)
  • Valid Washington Food Handler card (can be obtained after hire)
  • Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (can be obtained after hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced (minimum two years of job-related experience)
  • Relevant experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

Responsibilities

  • Take appropriate measures to meet the client's daily basic needs for health and safety, including but not limited to the following tasks: Prepare and serve meals, Conduct safety checks of the units, Monitor clients according to the assigned levels of observation, Provide transportation as directed by a supervisor, Assist in maintaining a clean work environment, Assist in maintaining a sufficient inventory of food and non-food items.
  • Complete all required electronic and paper charting, documentation, and data entry of clients as outlined in the appropriate KMHS guidelines, manuals, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical activities as directed by a supervisor, including but not limited to: Facilitate approved group activities, Conduct ongoing observation and assessment of the client's mental status during each shift, Record client nutritional intake, sleep, and vitals, Run treatment groups on shift, Take referrals appropriately, Follow specific behavioral protocols for clients as directed by a supervisor, and Complete all paperwork involved in providing direct client care, including but not limited to the following: Paperwork relating to admission and discharge, Confidentiality, Client rights, Client inventories, Tracking sheets.
  • Attend all mandatory training on time and as scheduled.
  • Keep current on all required documentation (i.e., food handlers permit, counselor licenses, etc.).
