The Behavioral Health Special Projects Lead will oversee and coordinate the implementation of major quality and research-driven initiatives/programs designed to improve the delivery of care and improve access to services. Assists providers and staff in developing new or modifying operational/clinical practices utilizing evidence based, best practice behavioral health care; works with managers to correlate/analyze data trends and data reports for evaluating outcomes of interventions and participates in the design and implementation of new programs/initiatives.

  • Functions as an expert resource and subject matter expert for new and existing behavioral health policies and best practices.
  • Creates and conducts a variety of trainings related to various behavioral health grants and/or accreditations.
  • Provides consultant services in a clinical practice by utilizing industry knowledge and provides guidance on department wide processes and workflows.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of quality focused initiatives while simultaneously auditing and monitoring their progress.
  • Collaborates with department representatives to develop and implement new programs.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • 5-7 years of experience required, preferably in at least two of the following areas: social work, nursing, psychology, and/or other behavioral health field
  • Ability to provide strong customer service and excellence in healthcare setting
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Word
  • Positive attitude with an eye for detail
  • Willing to travel to SE Michigan locations
  • Demonstrates team experience, leadership skills, collaborative approach to solving problems and proven successes in implementation of team goals.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication methods and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates ability to work within tight deadlines and timelines, with proven experience in meeting goals on time.
  • Compliance with Department Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Wayne Health requires all employees [temporary employees and contractors] who will interact with the public and/or co-workers, regardless of clinical responsibility or patient contact, to have started their primary vaccination series against COVID-19 or received a sincerely held religious belief or medical exemption.
  • All newly hired employees are required to have received their first vaccination dose prior to their start date of employment and completed primary series as outlined in FDA’s prescribing instruction for vaccine administration.
  • New hires must also receive their booster within 30 days after the date that they are eligible to receive it, per CDC guidelines.
  • Anyone with an approved exemption must have weekly PCR COVID-19 testing on their own time and submit the results every Monday, before arriving at work.
  • 2+ years of process improvement experience in behavioral health preferred
