The Behavioral Health (BH) Safety Manager supports the hospital-wide behavioral health strategy and aligns aggression management initiatives with organizational goals and all accreditation and regulatory standards. This includes the development and implementation of policies and protocols that impact multiple departments and service lines. This position requires participation in hospital committees, cross-functional teams, and external partnerships (e.g., advocacy, regulatory bodies, professional organizations). In addition, is responsible for coordinating the training of ACH staff in de-escalation and aggression management techniques in accordance with ACH selected vendor/program. This includes supervising trainers and managing the training schedule, maintaining program materials and data collection, and monitoring trainer staffing needs and completion of required trainings. In addition, the BH Safety Manager will have oversight of the hospital's Behavior Response Team (BRT) along with coordinating the review and rounding of patients in the system with purple banners. This position will also serve as a consultant regarding appropriate BPPE use and requirements. The BH Safety Manager will design and oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting for program outcomes, compliance, and continuous improvement. This includes benchmarking best practices, implementing innovative approaches and representing ACH in external forums, partnerships, and advocacy efforts related to behavioral health and workplace safety. This position will oversee the budget for program resources, training, and equipment and reports directly to the Behavioral Health Service Line Director.
