About The Position

PathPoint is seeking part-time or full-time Rehabilitation Specialist to join our Life Skills Center in Thousand Oaks, CA 91360. Make a difference in the lives of our clients who have mental illness and build meaningful relationships by walking alongside and assisting them with the skills they need to thrive in their daily lives. As a Rehabilitation Specialist, you will teach social skills, coping skills and independent living skills to individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. You will provide client services on a one-on-one basis, lead rehabilitation groups and supervise groups on outings in the community. Other responsibilities include participating in meetings to discuss client progress, cooking lunches and transporting clients to and from the Life Skills Center and on outings. Schedule: This is a part-time or full-time position, 16-40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with individuals with mental health disorders, or two years' experience in human services or recreation therapy
  • Must meet all legal requirements to bill Medi-Cal
  • Must have a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, 5 years of driving experience, and be eligible for coverage on PathPoint's auto insurance policy.
  • Culturally sensitive and aware of differences in employees based on cultural backgrounds; aware of one's own culture and how someone's background may lead to biases; has the skills and resources needed to work with employees from all different cultures and the ability to avoid making biased assumptions based on someone's culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal billing procedures is preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
