About The Position
A behavioral health program located near Lewisville is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing support to adolescent residents in a structured therapeutic setting. This role focuses on crisis support, medication administration, safety oversight, and collaborative care with a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered Texas RN license
- Minimum 1 year in psych, behavioral health, residential treatment, or acute care
- Weekend availability
- Current BLS certification
Nice To Haves
- CPI or similar crisis-management training
- Experience working with adolescents or trauma-exposed youth
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care and behavioral monitoring throughout assigned shifts.
- Administer prescribed medications and complete EMR documentation accurately.
- Perform assessments, vitals, and scheduled safety rounds.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment discussions.
- Implement crisis-prevention strategies and assist with de-escalation when needed.
- Communicate changes in resident behavior or condition to the clinical team promptly.
- Maintain a calm, supportive presence during emotionally intense situations.
