About The Position

MaineGeneral is seeking a dedicated RN to join our team on 3 South, our inpatient behavioral health unit at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. This state-of-the-art unit was designed in collaboration with staff and patients, creating a unique environment that sustains safe, innovative, and supportive care. Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Alfond Center for Health, Augusta Schedule: Full-time (36 hours/week) Shift: Nights (7p-7a) $20,000 sign-on bonus potential for experienced Nurses! Available to RNs with at least one year of nursing experience Must commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week Not available to current MaineGeneral employees or former employees separated for less than one year

Requirements

Active Maine RN license (or ability to obtain promptly) - required
Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

Nice To Haves

1 year of acute care RN experience working with this patient population - preferred
New Graduate RNs are encouraged to apply!
BLS and MOAB certification - preferred

Responsibilities

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, admissions, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluate the learning needs of the patient and/or family, and provide patient and/or family education that is appropriate to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegates and communicates patient care needs to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires
