About The Position

The Behavioral Health Receptionist at Mary Greeley Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting the medical center's mission by performing a variety of clerical and general office duties specifically for the Behavioral Health Services. This position involves a range of responsibilities including managing correspondence, sorting and routing incoming mail, photocopying, greeting customers, answering telephone calls, relaying messages, and managing patient records. The receptionist is also responsible for supply inventory and control, payroll editing, safety monitoring, and quality/patient data collection and monitoring. Compliance with governmental regulations and reporting is essential, and the receptionist is expected to provide input into departmental activities while ensuring that all actions taken support patient-centered care. In this role, the receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit, answering calls promptly and screening them effectively. Maintaining a presence at the main desk is critical, as is the ability to greet customers courteously and monitor department access control for patient and staff safety. The receptionist must demonstrate positive customer relation skills and prepare and assemble patient records while maintaining various patient logs and related records. Additionally, the role includes editing employee payroll records in Kronos, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information, and providing general clerical support to the department, which includes typing, filing, and maintaining office equipment. The receptionist is also tasked with uploading court documents via online systems, communicating with the court to maintain accurate dates and times of court proceedings, notarizing court documents, and maintaining an on-call magistrate/judge list. The role requires the ability to identify ways to support patient care services efficiently and effectively, as well as to think critically and problem-solve day-to-day issues. Participation in departmental and hospital education initiatives is also expected, along with treating coworkers, customers, and patients with respect and dignity, embodying the PRIDE values in all interactions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
