The Behavioral Health Psychologist will provide compassionate psychiatric care, focusing on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions in an outpatient and inpatient setting. We are seeking both full-time and part-time psychologists for positions at our ambulatory clinic in Novato, as well as our Innpatient, and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and intentisve outpatient services in Greenbrae. Telepsychiatry options are available where clinically appropriate. This role includes dedicated time for a collaborative team approach, working closely with co-located multispecialty medical providers and social workers to ensure comprehensive patient care. Opportunities for consult/liaison work in inpatient settings are also offered. There are no call duties at present, and no restrictions on practicing outside the group. Psychologists will also have the flexibility to integrate psychotherapy into their practice. In this role, the psychologist will collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, and contribute to treatment planning, all while supporting patients in their journey toward mental wellness with a focus on high-quality, relationship-based care.

Requirements

  • PhD or PsyD in psychology from an institution accredited by the Amerian Psychological Association (APA).
  • Licensed by the California Board of Psychology.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in outpatient or inpatient psychiatry, behavioral health, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with telepsychiatry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of mental health disorders, including but not limited to mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and personality disorders.
  • Conduct diagnositic assessments and evaluations, provide treatment and education, and provide follow-up appointments.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical guidelines.
  • Provide clinical interventions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary for patient improvement.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to ensure they are engaged in the care plan.
  • Work closely with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and primary care physicians, to ensure coordinated care.
  • Collaborate or consult with physicians or other prescribers to include the assessment of the need for additional treatment that may include medication or other medical evaluation.
  • Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and care planning conferences.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Liaise with community providers including, but not limited to, case managers, schools or academic settings, or social services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up care via the electronic health record system
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing mental health care.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of patient confidentiality and care.
  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatry, psychology, and behavioral health, attending relevant conferences, seminars, and training programs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
