About The Position

Find your purpose working in a dynamic, team oriented, fast paced environment providing mental health interventions to patients with acute mental health urgencies in an Observation setting! The Behavioral Health Observation RN will also appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with our EmPATH team and various community partners involved in developing Community Treatment plans. EmPATH is a dedicated healing environment separate from the emergency department, staffed with a multidisciplinary psychiatric team providing Emergency, Psychiatric, Assessment, Treatment, and Healing to those initially presenting to emergency rooms with mental health urgencies.

Requirements

• Graduate from a nursing program required; Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing preferred.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota required.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing must be obtained within three years of hire.
• 4 years minimum experience as a psychiatric or chemical dependency registered nurse preferred.
• Knowledge of abuse issues, chemical dependency, and clinical assessments for adults, adolescents, and children.
• Knowledge of crisis theory and intervention, psychiatric diagnosis, psychotropic medications, and community resources.
• American Nurses Association (ANA) Psychiatric - Mental Health Certification preferred.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) initial and ongoing training required and provided.

Responsibilities

• Master's in nursing starting at $42.37 per hour.
• Pay range: $40.33 - $62.01 per hour.
