About The Position

Spectrum HealthCare has a full-time opportunity for a civilian, Medical Receptionist at the Fairfax Ambulatory Care Center in Fairfax, Virginia. The Medical Receptionist will provide administrative services withing the behavioral health department. Position Overview: Perform receptionist duties and other various clerical tasks to assist staff members as necessary. Answer inquiries, verify and obtain information for general public, customers, visitors and other interested parties and update the Data system if needed. Verify patient information and make corrections if needed with each request for an outpatient visit. Responsible for registering new patients in the Composite Health Care system (CHCS). Have sufficient knowledge and skills to record and maintain accurate records per AR 40-66 and the use of the electronic medical record system (AHLTA). Prepare daily end of day reports and able to utilize computer data systems in these processes. Use computer terminal to input patient information and book the appointment by inputting appropriate codes for various types of appointments, patient’s military status, health care provides, etc. maintain data manually and input later when system is down. Ensure all treatment requested by the provider has been scheduled; reschedule appointments when necessary. Maintain/stock forms needed at front desk. Monday-Friday

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of experience as an administrative technician, in medical environment, using full range of equipment used in medical office environment
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other staff members.
  • Must be proficient with computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated records.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen- must have either an active passport, Driver's License (Real ID) or copy of birth certificate
