Requirements

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma/GED, an Associate Degree preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or completion of an approved MA training program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES.
  • One (1) year of behavioral health work experience, preferred.
  • Valid AZ State driver's license and vehicle with State minimum car insurance.
  • CPR certification, required.
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and any other required background checks.
  • Ability to meet Copa's driver authorized driving requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the provision of medical services under the general supervision of a BHMP.
  • Perform direct patient contact tasks including assisting in filling out forms, monitoring vital signs, venipuncture for diagnostic purposes, and collection of body fluid samples.
  • Update patient demographic and outside treatment information.
  • Schedule diagnostic tests and make telephonic appointment reminder calls to patients.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating hospital, surgery, complicated case referrals, and procedure activities.
  • Collect treatment-related and treatment-relevant information such as CSPMP and pharmacy refill requests.
  • Work in conjunction with RNs to provide oversight in the day-to-day performance of routine activities.
