The Behavioral Health Intern will gain hands-on experience working with patients and will contribute to meaningful projects under the supervision of experienced licensed behavioral health professionals that match the student's credentials (MSW, LPC, LP). The intern will be responsible for assessing the patient's psychosocial, spiritual, educational and other needs. In addition to assessment, interns will provide coordination, treatment and aftercare to patients. They will collaborate with their supervisor in development and implementation of individual care plans and interventions with patients. Interns will work as part of a treatment team and will actively contribute as part of the care team. Interns will become proficient in planning, executing and monitoring effectiveness of the care provided. Interns will provide resources to patients. Therefore, the ability to analyze, evaluate and discuss resources and educational information to ensure understanding to all educational levels is key to the role. The intern will play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality?of?care patients receive and will work actively to monitor patient progress on action plans and goals. Interns will also maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation. Some behavioral health interns will also contribute ideas and feedback to the development of new programs and initiatives. They will research, collate information, collect and analyze data and prepare materials, reports and presentations.
