About The Position

This position is responsible for providing services to patients, families, and significant others including completion of biopsychosocial assessments, psychiatric diagnoses, formulation of treatment plans and treatment interventions, therapy sessions (individual, couples, family or group), implementation of treatment plans and discharge planning. The Clinician can practice independently and without supervision, as permitted by the State of Ohio licensure. There is opportunity for this to be a part-time (24 hr/week) or full-time (36 hr/week) position. The required days would be Friday/Saturday 11a-11p weekly at Pickerington Emergency Department.

Requirements

• Master's Degree (Required)
• LISW - Licensed Independent Social Worker - Social Work Certification and Licensure Board, LPCC - Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors - American Counseling Association
• Social Work, Nursing, Counseling or related field; Licensure to practice independently in the State of Ohio or Certificate of Authority, e. g. , LISW, LPCC.
• Clinical psychopathology, psychiatric diagnosis and treatment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of biopsychosocial development for the age of patients served.
• Knowledge and experience of crisis assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient/family/significant other interviews, charts reviews and professional collaboration to obtain and interpret information pertaining to patient biopsychosocial functioning.
• Completes assessments including: risk factors of harm toward self or others, developmental and age-specific needs, ability to care for self, ability to care for dependents, ability to meet basic custodial and financial needs, ability to engage in meaningful social and emotional relationships, and ability to comprehend and comply with treatment recommendations. Develops preliminary diagnosis formulation.
• Develops and implements plan of intervention based on assessment.
• Provides crisis intervention, supportive, educational, individual, couples, family or group therapies in an effort to resolve problem areas. Employs treatment planning, continuum of care planning, and discharge planning.
• Maintains awareness of current hospital and community services to assist patient biopsychosocial functioning. Provides information and facilitates successful linkages between these services and patient.
• Thoroughly documents assessments and interventions in patient's medical record and information systems in accordance with department standards. Complies with internal and external documentation requirements as related to specific patient/system needs and regulatory requirements.
