About The Position

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is a federally recognized Tribe with its ancestral homeland located in Niobrara, NE. The Tribe does not have a reservation in the classic definition; rather, the Ponca Restoration Act defined its jurisdiction as a ‘Service Delivery Area’ comprised of 15 counties throughout parts of Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Within its Service Delivery Area, the Tribe offers a broad range of health, social, educational, and cultural services. The Behavioral Health Data & Evaluation Coordinator will support Ponca Health Services’ grant-funded initiatives by providing comprehensive data collection, management, analysis, and reporting to inform strategic decision-making and monitor program effectiveness. This position ensures a consistent cycle of evaluation designed to strengthen programs and services across behavioral health, substance use, and community support. The BH Data & Evaluation Coordinator will oversee data integrity and compliance with grant requirements, develop meaningful performance measures, and promote outcomes assessment as a tool for continuous quality improvement. Through the use of strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights, the BH Data & Evaluation Coordinator will equip leadership and funding partners with the information needed to enhance service delivery and demonstrate program impact.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in public health; data science; psychology; or related field
Two years of experience in data analysis, program evaluation, or performance measurement
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and be insurable.
Successfully pass drug and alcohol testing, motor vehicle, education, character, and criminal background checks.
Able and willing to travel.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in a related field
Two years of experience in research and data analysis.
Experience in behavioral health or human services
One year experience working with Native Americans or Native American organizations.
Knowledge and understanding of Public Law 93-638” Indian Self-Determination Act.

Responsibilities

Collect, track, and manage data across all Behavioral Health programs, including behavioral health, substance use, case management, and peer support services.
Maintain ongoing data collection for grant reporting and local evaluation requirements.
Extract and analyze data from APRIMA and other relevant database systems.
Ensure all data recorded is timely, accurate, and current.
Enforce patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA, CFR 42, the Privacy Act, and all applicable regulations.
Conduct quarterly and annual program evaluations and outcome studies in coordination with Lead Evaluators and Project Directors.
Apply research methodologies and statistical analysis to interpret data and assess program effectiveness.
Assist in the design of surveys and evaluation tools to support data-driven program planning and decision-making.
Identify service gaps and develop data-driven recommendations for quality improvement.
Prepare performance reports, evaluation summaries, and required grant reports for leadership and funding agencies.
Develop charts, dashboards, and data visualizations that clearly communicate trends, outcomes, and program impact.
Present data findings in meetings to support strategic planning and ensure adherence to project timelines.
Collaborate with program staff to ensure accurate and consistent data collection and reporting practices.
Work closely with grant Project Directors to meet reporting deadlines and fulfill project requirements.
Assist with grant writing, budget review, and maintenance of relevant grant budgets as needed.
Maintain knowledge of research resources, external data sources, statistical tools, and regulations to support program and grant compliance.
