About The Position

The Behavioral Health Crisis Therapist conducts crisis mental health and substance abuse evaluations for consumers. Evaluates biopsychosocial status and needs for the development of an appropriate treatment/crisis plan. Provides 24-hour mental health/substance abuse emergency resources to persons in central Indiana.

Requirements

• LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAC in the State of Indiana required.
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health related field required.
• 2+ years of experience providing mental health treatment required.

Nice To Haves

• Past experience in crisis triage and management, risk assessments, and working with mental health and chemically dependent populations preferred.
• Experience in medical milieu preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct crisis mental health and substance abuse evaluations.
• Evaluate biopsychosocial status and needs for treatment/crisis plan development.
• Provide 24-hour mental health/substance abuse emergency resources.
• Triage patients accurately and efficiently in various settings.
• Determine level of care and type of risk for patients in crisis.
• Conduct crisis intervention and support services for consumers of all ages.
• Coordinate direct admissions between patients' providers and inpatient units.
• Maintain documentation for all crisis and case management services.
• Provide offsite and community-based response.
• Provide consultation services to medical units as needed.
• Screen for acute care services including partial, outpatient, and case management.
• Provide psychiatric coverage to Network Emergency departments.
• Present detailed cases to insurance reviewers for certification.
• Participate in aggressive behavior management appropriate to the population served.
